Yaar Pardesi carries the emotions of love, comedy, as well as the social aspects of society. The movie centers around two girls, one Canadian(Claudia Ciesla) and the other an NRI (Vandana Singh), who reach India. The story takes off after this.The film is written and directed by Gurbir Singh Grewal. You may recall him from being the director of the movie Mannat, which featured Jimmy Shergill and Kulraj Randhawa, as well the Punjabi TV show Akhiyan Ton Door Jayeen Na. In fact, a lot of the starcast from the show is working in this movie like Vandana Singh who plays Jot in the show and Navdeep Kaler.

Claudia Ciesla who featured in the Indian reality TV show, Bigg Boss is playing the role of the Canadian girl in the movie.Veteran Gurpreet Ghuggi is there in the movie as well along with Dhanveer Singh, who plays the male lead.According to the director, another interesting point is that this movie first ever Punjabi Movie which has been fully shot with Sync Sound. What sync sound means is that the voices and sounds are recorded at the time of shooting instead of being dubbed at a later date. The credit for this goes to sound designer Avneet Grewal.
