MOVIE  BUZZ: While this iteration of the crime-fighter realizes its standing as an underdog and continues to keep a low profile, I just want to know two things: who was the first Sony employee to admit that Spider-Man 3 was a dud, and was it the same person who suggested a reboot? Personally, the inside story is more interesting than the choice of star Andrew Garfield or director Marc Webb (Garfield is a solid choice; Webb, a surprising one). Equally compelling is the thought of how Spidey will stack up in a year that delivers the next Batman chapter and the first formation of The Avengers. Obviously this retooling won’t whiff like Green Lantern, but I’m unsure whether the movie will become a cultural phenomenon.
